Lathe Millgrains
Shor lathe millgrain tools are used on a lathe with an SV-12 collect expander and collets to put a millgrain border on the edge of a ring or bracelet. Male tools have a raised bead and leave a beaded imprint on the edge of a ring or bracelet. Female tools are indented and leave a imprinted bead. Rope tools leave a rope like effect.  Lathe millgrains pictured below are magnified about 6 times actual size.   Actual size is ½" diameter.

The S style lathe millgrains are wider that the standard lathe millgrain. In addition to this difference, the teeth of the S style are cut more square, while the standard lathe millgrains have a much more rounded edge.  The result is a very unique edging.
