When used on a lathe (with an SV-12 ring collet expander), they can be used to shape an ordinary ring in a Hi-Low ring (see picture to left). 

When used with a ring drilling quadrant,  a faceting machine or a lathe, they can be used to channel cut a Hi-Low ring. 

When used with a faceting machine, they can be used to bright cut a Hi-Low ring.
